From January 2025, Exchange Online will implement a limit of up to 2,000 external buyers per 24 hours. Exchange Online, which does not support bulk or high-volume transactional emails, aims to reduce unfair use and misuse of resources.

There will be no change in the buyer limit. However, if you are sending to less than 2,000 external recipients within 24 hours, you will still be able to send to up to 10,000 recipients in total.

How will this change happen?

The new external recipient target limit will be implemented in two phases

Phase – From January 1, 2025, it will be applied to newly created customer mailboxes.
Phase – Between July and December 2025, it will be applied to existing customer mailboxes.
