Difficulty

As Daimler, the biggest challenge in the project of moving the applications kept in a traditional data center to the Microsoft Azure infrastructure offering modern technologies was to adapt the old generation applications to the PaaS platform, which is a new generation cloud infrastructure.

Strategy

In line with Daimler’s seamlessness strategy, our main motivation for the transition of the project was the uninterrupted service of each migrated application in the cloud environment. For this reason, before a serious transition such as both updating the code and changing the platform, we first created 4 separate environments, Test, Development, PreProd and Prod, and prepared a project plan based on guaranteeing that an application will work 100% before it goes to the prod environment.

Approach

Following this request from our business partner, ITStack and Unifytech consultants within the BIG4TR group of companies prepared and presented to the customer the most appropriate platform within the framework of cost-benefit analysis, possible transition process and subsequent costs, critical requirements for transition, dependencies after transition, possible scenarios on compliance and security issues.
